Who can make us happy - strangers, friends, relatives or enemies

Sometimes we think and feel someone can make us happy. We go to strange places and meet with all new people thinking that life is boring and some new additions can make us happy. Majority of the times we get disappointed because even if we feel good a few times, later on we find something that does not satisfy our minds. Then we turn to our friends and/or relatives to only realize they are not the same as they used to be.

Sometimes we like our enemies and want to be friends with them again to get some happiness from such a change. But after all these efforts we find that we feel good only for some time and after that we again go back to our original self of looking for happiness.

This is all due the fact that true happiness is an outcome of our own efforts of those acts that elevate the humanity in some shape or form. It may be for our own self and for others. This elevation brings the pleasure that does not go away because it is done selflessly and with no expectations in return.
